Photos of Birds

Took a short paddle by myself on Back Bay today about 1:00 pm. Shot this with my underwater camera. Didn't go far -- just to an island across from the Nautical Center, i.e. Northstar Beach.

Do you have any photos of birds? I'll probably shoot more on Sunday.

Wow! That's a great shot. I'll be looking forward to more bird photos. The only photos I have of birds is of our parrot & a few hummingbirds. My bird shots usually show a flurry of winged activity or their behinds.

Ah, a dodo.

The universe can rise and fall and rise again, and there will never be another dodo.

DbleA...I didn't know you were filming that day !

I do exhibit a certain ... nobility.

My father said: "Us dodos gotta stick together."

Actually, DbleA, he bears a close resemblence to my ex... LOL... ;0)

Funny you should mention bird photos, Skeeter... I took this one a few months back... All attempts to identify him have been thwarted... Maybe one of you knows what he is, or can steer me to someone who does?... My curiosity is about to KILL me!

It's hard to tell in this photo, but he was about the size of a large gull, and he was VERY brave. He allowed me to get within 10 feet of him before flying away. Check out the way his wing-tips cross over his back.

What Kind of Bird Is THAT?!

Yes. This is a Horned-Beak Daffy. They call it a Daffy because during mating season it sounds exactly like Mel Blanc.

Forgot to post the link to my full-sized pic:

Love that long-neck crane or whatever it is, Cirindaguitar. The one at bottom look stately, too.

So far, the Horned-Beak Daffy wins. Any other entrants?

Interesting you should say that, Skeeter... I thought I heard it say, "What's up, RC?" as I approached... ;0))))
